Checkboxes in Google Chrome, Z-Index and no-cache meta tag

Hello David,

I use a checkbox in my webapp for confirming the privacy statement and position it absolutely by using

SetStyle "[myObject]" "top" "[myObject_Y]px"
SetStyle "[myObject]" "left" "[myObject_X]px"

This works fine with IE and firefox. Chrome always positions the checkbox in the bottom left corner. Any idea why?

Thanks for your help
Walter

PS: To my opinion it would bee nice to have a general app option for webapps not ot cache the content. No question to add these meta tags manually but you know we ´re getting older and forget :-).

Re: Checkboxes in Google Chrome, Z-Index and no-cache meta tag

Hello Walter,

This works to me in all browsers I test, including Chrome:

SetVar "[CheckBoxTop]" "0" "String"
SetVar "[CheckBoxLeft]" "0" "String"
SetVar "[CheckBoxID]" "Checkbox1" "String"

SetStyle "[CheckBoxID]" "top" "[CheckBoxTop]px"
SetStyle "[CheckBoxID]" "left" "[CheckBoxTop]px"

Then take care about "[myObject_Y]" and "[myObject_X]"  variables. Also take care about "[myObject]" variable. This cannot be the same name than the Checkbox control. You can always specify the name of the control if you like:

SetVar "[CheckBoxTop]" "0" "String"
SetVar "[CheckBoxLeft]" "0" "String"

SetStyle "Checkbox1" "top" "[CheckBoxTop]px"
SetStyle "Checkbox1" "left" "[CheckBoxTop]px"

About the "no-cache" meta tag, please, let me sometime in order to investigate it.

Re: Checkboxes in Google Chrome, Z-Index and no-cache meta tag

Thanks David,
may be my problem is that I want to lay the checkbox over a picture? I use z-index to realise this. And as I wrote ... it works fine in IE and firefox, but nor in Chrome.

Thanks again,
Walter

Re: Checkboxes in Google Chrome, Z-Index and no-cache meta tag

Hello,

Yes; if we wanted to show the checkbox over an image, then we need to play with the "z-index". In my test the checkbox appear over the image if assign a "z-index=9999" in both designtime (using the object inspector) or in runtime (using the SetStyle action). Try to assign a value like "9999" to the checkbox "z-index" Walter.

About the "no cache" meta tag, finally I add a new HTML tab into the app options dialog. From this new tab we can specify if App Builder must automatically add app information and prevent browsers cache using the index.html metadata, and, we can also specify custom metatags to be added into the refered index.html file.
