Hi David,

Thank you. Soon I will upgrade my license. It seem like I have been missing alot of new features and sample project.

Keep up David.

Hi,

Good to hear that there is new FileDownload on the release.
Although, I don't have latest version license at the moment to test it.
However, I will say well done David. Happy new year.

@Ianka: I will suggest that you should compress the pdf with this tool FILEminimizer by balesio. Maybe it might help. If not then David's idea is the best.

@EGovMetrics:

You can easily embed video (YouTube) on the form and control the link(channels) remotely(webserver).

Hi David,

I read about the Domo Electra project with AB when you sent it by email. I was really happy for you and I know this is just the beginning of the AB application. Without doubt in my mind, AB application will still be more popular.

I have already told most my school mate about AB application and they were amazed too.

Thank you David and keep it up.

Alright, well done once again. I have been waiting for this kind of good news.

Actually, I have been saying that App Builder is powerful than what people might think.

Hi David,
Hope you get well soon.

My question is, will idlestart and end work if username (login) details are stored on the database server and want user re-login when time is go out after re-open app when time is exceed.Like we use session in php.

#10 Re: Topics related with App Builder » Need Advice : logout when timeout » 2017-09-07 18:22:33

Hi David,
Hope you are feeling fine now.
Idlestart and End is good idea. What about if the username and password credentials are going to be from external database?

#11 Re: Topics related with App Builder » Need Advice : logout when timeout » 2017-09-01 06:31:25

I feel like this is a more easy approach. I'm not sure if this is the best way but here goes. What you can do is:

Set a PHP Session ($_SESSION['timeout']) to current time (time()) when the user logged in.
Wrote the following function to validate whether the user is active.

    function sessionTimeOut() {

// This function is adding 900 seconds (15 Minutes, which is the amount of time you want the user to // be inactive to automatically logout) to the previously registered time when the user was last active. // Then, its checking whether the current time is greater than the amount of time you want the user to // stay logged in without timing out (which is 15 minutes). If it's greater, then you are redirected to the // login page where you can initiate a logout function with http://www.yourwebpage/login.php?status=timeout on the URL.

    if ($_SESSION['timeout'] + 900 > time()) {

      // User Active so reset time session.
      $_SESSION['timeout'] = time();

    } else {

      // session timed out then redirect to login page
      header('Location:http://'. $_SERVER[HTTP_HOST] . '/login.php?status=timeout');

    }

    }

The point is not if WebOS requires an specific IDE. When we develop apps for iOS, we compile our AB applications using Apache Cordova, and, what Cordova produces is an XCode (the IDE of MacOS) project, ready to be open with XCode if we wanted.

I think this case is more or less similar. AB produces an HTML5 application and the appropiate Cordova stuff, and, the project linked in the first post. take that application and convert it to a project for the WebOS platform IDE, ready to deploy the final app.

Hi David,

I see. It make sense.
Thanks for clearing the doubt.

@David,

The LG WebOS SDK, IDE and Instruction can be found here

http://webostv.developer.lge.com/sdk/do … nload-sdk/

@EGovMetrics

The knowledge of AB will help you to some existent but you can not use AB because LG WebOS have his own IDE and and language structure.

However, you can use AB for creating android TV apps. eg. Android boxes which is now common is towns.

I will discuss this with David if he is not aware of it already.

I use the AB generated shell scripts in Mac OS almost everyday and right now (they need some adjustments in the past AB releases) works like a charm. In fact the "iOS" BAT for Windows is maintained, but certainly we can now build the entire project in Mac OS directly with this AB generated shell scripts. smile

Hi Dave,

Can we update our AB now and how can we use the script?

Hi Dave,

Sure, without doubt. It will be useful for us.

Well done.

Yes; I am use the shell scripts activelly in certain application in which I am working for Android and iOS. I just execute the "release" script, and then, without ver minor changes, "archive" the app in the XCode IDE. And that's all! Upload it to the Apple store in seconds. smile

Hi lloydnec,

There are many ways to achieve flip reader, one of them is to use cordova plugin document viewer which can be find at https://github.com/sitewaerts/cordova-p … ent-viewer

Another way is to use pdf converter to android, iOS ereader.

No matter what component we use, we are always talking about HTML and CSS. So not only the mentioned browsers but Opera, Microsoft Edge, the browsers mobile versions, etc., must shown the app in the same way. If, for example, something is wrong with a browser (see in this thread the Chrome for mobile issue) then we find a bug that must be fixed.

But the Chrome for mobile issue do not means the browser render the app in other way... it's just that, for some reason (I continue investigating about) their behaviour (not the apparence) is different and not what we expected. If we use exactly the same application in other browser like Firefox for mobile, everything works like expected.

So we find here an specific issue with an specific browser that must be fixed, but, again, due to the nature of our applications, every modern browser must render our applications in the same way.

Great! You sound confident in your statement, without doubt this one of the reason I like your products.

Thanks

In principle we use stándar HTML5 and CSS, and then, every modern browser must shown our work in a very very similar way. So maybe I missing something because I am not sure if understand well what you means by "scalling differently". What we must asume is a smaller screen can't be appear exactly in the same aspect in very larger screen except if we use a "fixed" style.

By fortune App Builder offer to us the ability to change between fixed and scaled styles in runtime, determine the size of the application (using some max size for larger screens like in the Calculator sample), events like Orientation, Resize, and, actions like "SetStyle" and "SetViewSize", among the ability to use also pure Javascript and any kind of CSS in order to achieve our desired results.

It is same thing we are talking about.

What I met about scaling is how browsers render differently.

@svanneste: I believe David has given tips on how to carryout  Auto scaled on our apps. e.g Calculator sample project.

However, have it mind that all browsers render scalling differently no matter how you pop in CSSs. But you can use coventional standard scale for objects on mobile.
