this I know. If no way to stop the PlaySound action I will use this. I would prefer the PlaySound action because it is much easier to handle.
Thanks for your help,

#3 Re: Topics related with App Builder » Use vars in Strlen or ArrayIndexOf » 2016-03-29 08:33:17

Hello and many thanks to David!

for all others: The solution is simple: The value of a MultiSelect control itsself is an array. This means if you want to search for the result of a single selection in an MultiSelect.Control you have to read first postion of the selected (answer) array:

// example > code in the click event of a MultiSelect.control to read the clicked name and search for it in an second array >>

// this is the result of clicking one item in the MultiSelect. controll Select1
// but because the returned value itself is an array you have to select the first item of the list !!!
ArrayGetItem "[Select1.SelItems]" "0" "[searchme]"

// Now you have a valid string in var [searchme], which you can proof and then make a query to another array
StrLen "[searchme]" "l"
Alert "" "[searchme], length l=[l]"

// search for [searchme in another array in Select2.Items !!!
ArrayIndexOf "[Select2.Items]" "[searchme]" "result"

Hello David,

I did the alert test from the begining and the alert always shows me the correct value, i.e 11_HILLER, that is what me drives crazy. I have to leave now, but will send you the app later! Thanks, Walter

Hello David, thanks for your answer.
Do you think it could be a problem, because I define var [searchme] in the click of the Select1.SelItems? Means I SetVar "searchme" "[Select1.SelItems]" "String" ? Thanks, Walter

Hello again,

a second problem I have to solve: I try to realize a list of names ( read out of mySQL table) in a MultiSelect.control  where the user can select a certain name. This works fine with a php script which gives the array of names by httpexecute GET to my script. BUT a error alwas ocurrs in the moment, when I have 2 or more same names in the list (i.e. Hiller,Hiller). Then I get an compiler error which shows to an error ngRepeat:dupes. I found a website with some information but don´t know you to treat it ...

Hello,

happy Easter to all! I just fight with a interesting problem. Please have a look at the examples below. Version 1 works as it should, Version 2 returns a -1 although [searchme] has the value "11_HILLER".

ArrayIndexOf "[A_Nachnamen]" "11_HILLER" "result"
ArrayIndexOf "[A_Nachnamen]" "[searchme]" "result"

Same behavior i.e with StrLen.is it not possible to use a var as input?

Thanks,
Walter

Hello David,
thanks for your sample. The HTML control is quite nice and works fine. But I would prefer a image control, because I now use it my code and  I scale and re-position it, if the resolution is changed ... . I just would have to label it with a [variable.value]
Thanks

Hi to all,

I just redesign part of may app and now want to use buttons / images  with a dynamic subtitle, i.e. I have a flat icon for visitors and want to have a text like "VISITORS" below it - corresponding to the language the user has choosen. There are different solutions and tutorials with HTML and CSS, but I wonder if there is a more comfortable way in AppBuilder i.e using SetAttribute or SetProperties?
Thanks for your help.

Hi to all,

we use AppBuilder for e-learning purposes quite successfull. Because we have a lot of new client inputs, we now look for a freelancer, who is confident with AppBuilder and assists me. Until now I only use AppBuilder for webbased apps, but now we have to start with real apps for android. Beside this you should have good or very good knowledge in PHP, mySQL, CSS. Payment could be by hour or project, depends on your preferences. My native language is German, but I think my English is understandable.

If somebody is interested, please contact me.

Thanks and  a very good  2016 to all

Hello,
I´m wondering why the MediaPlayer control needs .ogv files for playing movies in Forefox or Chrome? Both browsers handle mp4 quite good. Is this a need of the java library? For me it is difficult, because I have to upload hundred of mp4- movies anyway and then I have to store  same amount twice as .ogv. Not only a question of storage costs also a question of time and work. Thanks in advance for answer and advice.

#18 Re: Topics related with App Builder » MediaPlayer control - questions » 2015-10-15 09:39:20

Hello David,
back again from a longer illness and holidays now I redesign some things in my WebApp. One of these things is the MediaPlayer. I cancel all Flashplayer activities and use your MediaPlayer again.  And there I have still the question of hiding the native MediaPlayers controls for Play-Pause,Slider, Fullscreen etc. .
My idea is to activate the controls on design time, on run time controls should hide after i.e 3 seconds and be reactivated/shown again if needed > i.e. by setting a var like MediaPlayer1.controls=true/false. I also tried SetStyle "MediaPlayer1" "controls" "false" but was´nt successfull.

Thanks for your answer

Hello,

<script type="text/javascript">

   function onendedFunction(e) {
        alert("Mobilvideo Ende");
        window.App.Scope.movieend ="end";
   }

   function streamcomplete(txt) {
        alert("Flashplayer Video Ende");
        window.App.Scope.movieend ='end';
   }

</script>

But his doen´t work. Before the last changes of AppBuilder I used:

<script type="text/javascript">

   function onendedFunction(e) {
        alert("Mobilvideo Ende");
        window.App.RootScope.movieend ="end";
   }

   function streamcomplete(txt) {
        //alert("Flasplayer Video Ende");

Hello David,

I use a checkbox in my webapp for confirming the privacy statement and position it absolutely by using

SetStyle "[myObject]" "top" "[myObject_Y]px"
SetStyle "[myObject]" "left" "[myObject_X]px"

This works fine with IE and firefox. Chrome always positions the checkbox in the bottom left corner. Any idea why?

PS: To my opinion it would bee nice to have a general app option for webapps not ot cache the content. No question to add these meta tags manually but you know we ´re getting older and forget :-).
